Action Man: Critical Mission was one of the biggest brand names to enter the park, and one of the best children’s attractions the park ever built. Compromised mainly of children’s play equipment and heavy theming, this Action Man attraction was more fun than it looked.
The ride was located where Land of the Dragons now resides and was one of the largest attractions in the park at it’s time of opening, covering a vast area of land within the park. It was only going to last so long covering that amount of land in the park, and June 2003, Action Man: Critical Mission closed it’s doors to the public for the last time and became a part of Chessington history.
Action Man was one of the most successful toy brands at the time, and although it was mainly targeted it boys, the attraction was enjoyed by both boys and girls, and thanks to it’s great theming and effects, it became a favourite amongst children of all ages! It’s sure to be one of the attractions that mainly boys will remember, but it was still good fun for everyone, including the parents!
